Lasermax in G19 - problems, etc?

OK -

A good friend of mine gifted me a Lasermax guide-rod laser, and I’m going to need to use it for a while so as not to appear an ungrateful ass. Has anyone used one of these? I can’t see it doing anything but negatively affecting the gun’s reliability, but maybe it’s not as bad as I’m thinking.

How do you see it effecting the Glocks operation?

My issues are these:

It appears that if the battery compartment or switch assembly were to break it would have a good possibility of really jamming up the mechanism with the broken parts.

I generally don’t care for things that aren’t very water resistant. If it can’t survive a dunking it won’t last long in my holster.

There are a number of anecdotes out there about cycling problems from previously flawlessly functioning Glocks.

If these concerns are unfounded I would certainly be happy to know that. To me this particular solution is a good one IF it’s durable. I like that it doesn’t alter the externals of the gun at all, and it’s there if I want to use it - but I don’t HAVE to if I don’t want to.
