LaRue Tactical LT-104 SPR/M4 scope mount on sale

Heads-up guys. LaRue Tactical LT-104 SPR/M4 scope mount on sale for the first time.

Other mounting solutions are far superior. Maybe market pressure will actually force Larue to innovate instead of relying on a 10+ yo reputation to sell products.

I wonder why ? Maybe he wants to buy a new airplane. Its not necessarily a bad mount, but I agree with what the above poster said, others have now equaled or surpassed it. IMHO, nothing is so good it cannot be made better. Over time a product either changes or many times it risks dying on the vine, so to speak.

I’m curious which mounts are considered superior and the reasons why. I am in need of a good 30mm mount for my Grendel.

Due to the mechanism in which the QD clamps to the rail is the big one. Three other players that make solid QD mounts, and often considered more preferable than the Larue because of the mounting mechs, are Bobro, ADM, and GDI.

Is it the ability to return to zero of the Larue the concern here, or something else? Thanks.

I get it, bobro is the gold standard now, and I actually just ordered one for a nice price as well, but Larue works too. Yeah, old design, but at the same time, it’s still out there in the wild. It’s still issued and used and hasn’t failed me yet on multiple tours.
Maybe, and hopefully, Larue is trying to thin the stock out and has something in the works for that innovation we all seek? Who knows. Either way, I wouldn’t mind picking one up for this sale price.
I guess it’s all about application: if you want RTZ functionality and the assurance that you have the best on a setup for precision work or competition, then pay the extra clams for a bobro. If you are nostalgic about your old service weapon, or just love Texas and want to get some BBQ seasoning with your order, than get a Larue.
Why can’t we all have both? Can’t we all just get along?! :help:

At least they’re both made in the USA, right?

The gold standard are line-bored rings with 1/2" nuts on crossbolts that torque to 65 or so inch pounds. Bobros break. I’ve seen and read enough about it to now attribute it to more than just “haters”. Even Mr. Guns n Gear (who doesn’t seem “bought” or like a fanboy) has weighed in that his 5.56 broke a Bobro.

This…

^ Carrying half a 1/2" wrench in the stock or grip gives you pretty quick detach, too

Well I learned something new.
I’m but a simple peasant.

I always wanted to try a Larue so since it was on sale I ordered one. It’s probably goin on my Grendel I use mostly for huntin so I’m sure it will be good for that purpose.
