Will a LaRue Stealth upper fit on a Colt LE6920? It seems to have the same receiver pin diameter as a Colt MT6400c, which I’ve been told has larger pins than mil spec.

Okay - got this answered by LaRue. It is compatible. My confusion stemmed from the fact that my MT6400c has the same size front pin diameter and the 6920. I’ve read that the MT6400c has a larger diameter front pin. Evidently they made some that were not larger?
The pin diameter on both of these rifles is 1/4".
Does anyone know of a link that shows the difference in the two front pin sizes?

i am 99.9% sure that whoever told you that is wrong. Colt stopped using the large pivot pins in the early 90s. Every LE6920 or MT6400C i’ve seen (including the two i’ve owned) come with an M4 marked Colt upper receiver which I don’t believe was ever made with the large pivot pin.
they could have meant the FCG (hammer/trigger) pins which measure .170 as opposed to .154. in the past two years, Colt has gone back to using the .154 pins in their LE line (not sure about the MT line), but the FCG pins would not prevent you from swapping any upper you wanted on to your lower.

Yes it will fit fine on a 6920… The older 6920 had the old FCG pins though. I had to swap mine to an LMT lower when I added a Wilson TTU trigger.
Great upper by the way. My 18"/13.2" is awesome and far more accurate than I am!

As for the FCG pins, I’m having trouble deciphering the which size these are. The MT6400 is approx. 8 years-old, +/-. One of the 6920s is approx. 2-3 years old. The other 6920 is new. The FCG pins in all three visually look the same.
Would an 8 year-old MT6400 have standard FCG pins?

my MT6400C’s from 2002 and 2003 have the .170 pins
this is really a non-issue and will not affect compatibility with the LT stealth…
My issue with the .170 FCG pins is simply from a replacement parts compatibility standpoint.
it’s definitely not something to lose sleep over, the .170 FCG parts can be bought online, and chances are you’ll wallow out the lower holes before you break a colt 5.56 hammer…
Geissele makes their triggers in .170 as well if you’re looking for one of the best 2-stage triggers out there

I’m thinking about a SOPMOD stock for this 18" setup. Anyone know how the SOPMOD would balance with the 18" upper?
LaRue SPR-E, and the SOPMOD balances well with an 18".

That is a Mueller 8.5-25x44AO Tactical Mil-dot on a LaRue SPR-E QD mount.

I own 3 different Mueller scopes and you can’t get any better quality for the money.
Nice rifle! I am going to ditch the Harris and go with a BoBro when they are available and I will also put the MIAD back on and I am done. I will be going with a NF 2.5-10x32 for optics, the CQT is temp… It really is an excellent upper in my opinion.

If you shoot nose to charging handle the extended model would probably be better. If you shoot back further than NTCH the regular SPR 1.5 would be fine.
Keep in mind you cant mount the mount on various positions on the upper, and you have some flexibility in mounting the scope in the rings, too. Just mount the mount, get a good cheek weld for yourself, and then move the scope in the rings until you get a good sight picture.

d90king - I’m thinking about trying a fixed A2 stock lower as you have pictured for my 18/13.2 setup and maybe using the SOPMOD for a 16" Recce setup.
I haven’t looked into the differences in the rail interfaces I see listed on the BCM site for their Recce offerings. I’ll need to figure that out, too…
