If the price for the Costa Edition is too outrageous I’m just getting the boring black regular version. However, I’m prepared to spend a little extra for the FDE.
For anyone that hasn’t watched the video but would like to know;
New PredatOBR comes with 14.5" OBR mid-length barrel w/pinned Surefire muzzle device & 14" PredatAR hand guard. If I understood that right there will be the same in 7.62.
Costa edition is $850 more than the regular PredatOBR ($2850 total).
The 7.62 versions of the PredatOBR will be $3k, same as the regular OBR.

The LaRue industry thread on TOS is burning up. Somebody claimed to call into LaRue and get the info.
Pretty thin, but the only thing I’ve seen so far.
I will call them myself next week and see what I can find out about the price & availability. So far the only thing I heard that isn’t a rumor is that the regular PredatOBR 5.56 will go for 2K.
I called and spoke with Will yesterday, and he confirmed the $1995(5.56), $2850(Costa), $2995(7.62) pricing. No word yet on pre-orders, or what % the mil/le discount is.
Thanks for the info. I won’t be paying $855 extra for the Costa Edition…but it might be worth it if it will go up in value like the Magpul lowers. Mine will be a shooter so it will have scratches eventually. I’m also interested in trying the Larue Stock that comes on the regular version.
I hope the PredatOBR can be ordered as soon as SHOT is over.
I spoke with Costa this morning at SHOT and he thought the sig carbine was around $2800 so those numbers are very close…
That hybrid is quite a pig.
7.9 lbs without irons, ambi controls or sling mounts? (And that’s with the MOE grip & stock.)
Mount irons, an optic and light and it’s a mid 9-pounder.

Yea, do you remember what the Magpul Edition SR15 was going for? I believe it had a similar premium.
I was actually going to look for a 1:1 on that.
But, IIRC the Magpul edition also came with a different case, DVDs, sling, mags, etc. right? Will be interesting to see what, if any, extras you get with this one other than color.
From what I understand it comes with some kind of Surefire muzzle device (fingar says flash hider or comp), CTR Stock and MIAD Grip.
I gotta say tho, I’m really interested in the new Larue stock & grip on the regular PredatOBR…I believe Larue will pin & weld a Surefire muzzle device of your choosing if you are willing to pay extra.
I wish Larue would hurry up and put info on their site so we can see exactly what we will get.

I am pretty sure I will be getting a PredatAR in the next few months and was going to contact LaRue about an NJ friendly version… This 14.5 with pinned break deal is a much more friendly idea for me…
Even with the 10,000 advertised bbl life my 2 or 3 classes a year and fun at the range with the fiance and friends should give me a few years before I have to change the bbl. Im okay with that.

Just to take a quick step back… Somebody said that a larue rep had told them that a gun down range had 30,000 through the tube… I am asking honestly as i dont know. But is that possible??
