LaRue OBR - this rifle rocks!

Put some function test rounds down range through my OBR last weekend. Just ten rounds of 147gr Portugese surplus double and triple tapped. Recoil is very mild. The Surefire muzzle break is really loud.

Awaiting the arrival of an OBR 34mm mount for the S&B PMII, Magpul PRS with receiver extension/buffer/spring, Harris bipod on LaRue mount. Next purchase is a Surefire suppressor, followed by a decent LASER range finder, spotting scope, and likely the Knights Armament iPhone ballistics software.

Nice Josh,

I bet the 10 shot groups will be better next go round if you secure your new rings!!:p;)

BUIS on that rifle is a complete waste. If that S&B PMII fails, just throw in the towel. BUIS with an etched reticule optic is unnecessary. It doesn’t look like he has the correct height rings to clear the rear iron anyway.

If you would have read his post, you might understand that the scope is laying there, not attached to the rifle and that he is WAITING on new rings.

What is your experience in regards to BUIS on such a rifle that makes you think they are a waste?

Some of the parts came in today. Just waiting on the PRS. Anyone need a set of used, like new Badger Ord steel 34mm M40 rings from my first pic?

Does anyone have experience with Silver State Armory’s 7.62x51 match offerings? Was going to pick up a mix of various manufacturer’s stuff to see what this rifle likes best.

I’m so jealous!!!
I just gotta have a AR in a .762 platform!!!

Boy, those are beauties!!! Maybe one day!

Sweet stick.

Can’t wait to see it with a can!

Purdy… Congrats on the new rifle!

Cool rifle.

You should check out Ballistic: Field Tactical Edition ballistic calculator for the iphone. I’ve tried both it, and KAC bulletflight; and think Ballstic FTE has some advantages.

+1. Got it when it was only 5 bucks though.

Nice!

I have a JP 308 with an 18" barrel and 1 in 11:25 twist rate. Your groups should tighten up with 165gr+ bullets. At least that was my experience.

Although I was shooting WWB 147 gr. fmj and getting 2" groups. Once I shot 168 and 175 gr Federal Sierra Match King BTHP it became sub MOA. It may have been more than just a difference in bullet weight.

some day…

The only item missing now is a Surefire can.

Nice blaster

great looking gun

Are you sure you have enought scope on that CARBINE??

I am very jealous. That is my next purchase when money gets better. Congrats!

That is a VERY nice setup. I hope to have one near the end of the year.
