Larue mini dots & bases?

Anybody have experience with the Larue mini dot and base combos? I’m setting up a backup rifle and these seem like they will fit the bill. Instead of going with a Troy rear + Aimpoint T1/H1 and QD base ($140+$520+$100=$760), I thought I might try the Larue/Pride-Fowler combo which would do the same for $400. It is a backup after all. Not interested in the Dr. Optic - if I were going to drop that dime I’d go ahead with the T1 setup.

I’m looking for anybody that might be able to share their experiences with that combo or one of the similar sights.

I have the Larue set up with the Bushnell fire sight on my RRA 9mm plinker. it works fairly well. Its not nearly as durable or as nice as a full size sight but it works. The adjustments are crude and sighting it in was frustrating but not impossible. The dot is also listed as 4 moa but due to blooming it looks more like 8 at 100 yards.
