I bought a LaRue 9" handguard to put on my Noveske 16" middy. I would have to take off my flash suppressor and front sight, Is this something that I can do myself providing I have the right tools? Does the barrel need to be torqued when put back on? Thank you!
I installed LaRue 9" rail on my Colt. I just used a wrench and twisted off.
In the end, I just put crash washer and tightened the suppressor/compensator
(mine was A2)'s right angle.
The flash suppressor should have a new crush washer. You will also need some barrel vise jaws to secure the barrel. Basically you want to ensure that the center of the compensator is centered on the FSB. The front sight is not too difficult just make sure you pay attention to how the taper pins are put in. I highly recommend that you do not reuse the old ones.
