Thanks for the posting as I do not have the channel that the show airs on. I wished Mr. Vickers would come out with a DVD training video on specific platforms such as the AK.
If you are interested in the AK platform you may want to look at Gabe Suarez’ work. He has three DVD’s dedicated to fighting with the AK as well as several classes. Really excellent information to be found there.

Let’s keep this thread on track and not derail it with Suarez.
I have all of those, but it is my understanding that Mr. Suarez does not have any “real world” experiance. This is something I look for when I choose to watch a training video or attend a class.
If you enjoyed the videos you should take Larry’s AK specific class. It is an experience not to be missed. His schedule is packed these days - don’t miss a chance to train with LAV by putting it off too long.

OK…Just seemed to me that the topic was the AK, specifically training with the AK, even more specifically AK training on video. Hardly derailing anything when someone posts a desire for a training video from Mr. Vickers (which I agree would be fantastic) which does not exist to suggest an alternate. The way I see it interjecting personal bad feelings you may harbor for another instructor might just be the derailing you’re referring to. Therefore I think you did that all by yourself.
I know, this class in on the top of the list for me.
The part where he discussed the Russians claiming not to have been influenced by the Sturmgewehr was memorable…and commenting “Mama didn’t raise a fool” or something to that effect. Classic delivery.

You’re not going to find a lot of love for Gabe Suarez around here especially if you try to compare his knowledge to some of the folks we have here. That goes for general and specific AK knowledge, real world experience and training.
I’m not saying that you’re wrong in believing that Suarez couldn’t teach someone something about the AK platform but given the experts here I think we’d be better served realizing he way down on the list.
