Mine is actually installed on a FS9 - no problems using them on 9/40 guns that I am aware of.

As long as the magazine is inserted I do not believe that it could twist out.
We issue Glocks at work, and duty sometimes includes boat duty patrolling a port basin. When doing that I attach a Blackhawk lanyard to my pistol.
There is someone out there making a retractable lanyard for concealed carry. Lanyards do make sense for uniformed and concealed carry, harder to take it away from you if you are attached to it.
