I never said that Pmags wouldn’t accept 30 rounds. I said its a good practice to download ALL MAGAZINES by one round. Ideally you want to be able to push the last round of the magazine down below the lips… This will reduce the risk of malfunctions created by magazines.
Two very wise men recommend this and because they have far greater experience than I do, I listen…
I don’t want to take away from Grants thread any further so we can take it to PM, or a different thread if you feel the need to discuss it further.
I have yet to try a Lancer mag but Mike Pannone has been suggesting them to me for the past six months. He was involved in testing them and gives them his highest praise.
FYI: I have several lowers that require P-Mags to be down loaded to 28 rounds.
I am of the opinion that there are no magazine offerings currently available that will reliably load 30rds and seat positively beneath a closed bolt, across their production. This includes PMags, Lancers, ARC mags, and many others. I’ve seen and owned examples of each that will, and some will do so more consistently than others (ARCs), but not enough that I’d call any of them a true 30rd magazine.
They’re good mags, and they have 30rds of capacity, but they shouldn’t necessarily be used as 30rd mags.
Hogg thanks for the weights, very helpful. I may have to pick up a few of these. I’m interested in the fact that they’re a little lighter than Pmags and that they have aluminum feedlips. I’ve had one or two Pmags get cracked feed lips in really cold weather. The new Lancers look like they may hold up better.
They actually have steel feedlips, not aluminum.
Got a couple of these from LAV yesterday and plan on beating them up.
Pretty promising, if the work as well as the originals with these new features they’ll be great mags.
Even better
just ordered a couple of these from G&R along with a couple other things…I’ll see how I like these and I will probably end up ordering more.
While that may be true, non other than the dynamic duo (Costa and Haley) said in a class that they also load PMAGs at 28.
(Having said that, I usually load my PMAGs at 30, at least in practice, as I don’t count the rounds and load until it is “full”)
The issue with P mags is you can load 31 into them after the spring gets a little old making it impossible to get them into the gun with the bolt closed. I always load the mag full and strip two rounds out.

I love my L5 mags but $18.99 for the AWM seems a bit expensive to me.
Buy them in bulk (as they are cheaper). ![]()

When do you think you will get the 20 round magazines in stock? I like 20 round mags, but have had problems with polymer 20 round magazines before. I hope Lancer makes a good 20 round magazine so I can get a good stock of nice lower profile mags.
Thanks

Lancer Lowers are in stock!

It’s great to finally start seeing these in stock again. I couldn’t find one locally for ages. If I’d known you had them I probably would have ordered one a long time ago. I think the L15 lowers at $209 are a no brainer especially now that they’re forged and come with an AWM mag.
Agree. This is one of my favorite lowers and the price is fantastic.
