I missed the G2s the other day Thanks for the heads up on these.

I do what I can when I see a deal.

I got the LA Police email about the 6PL as well. Found this page as well though and it actually looks like they are closing out a few different lights

thanks for the heads up, I’ve been wanting another 6PL for my glove box, order placed.

Does anyone have the scoop on what the Gen 2’s are offering above and beyond the Gen 1’s?

More stylish configuration. Base models 1 output, Pro models 2 output settings. 200 lumens, or on pro 200/15 lumens. Longer run times. Base model twist/press cap, pro click cap.

Depends on which lights you’re talking about but for the G2L’s and the 6PL’s I believe its a head change; bumping them from 80 lumens to 120 lumens

I have a 80 lum G2L now and it is very bright. I also have an E1B at 120 and while it is brighter, I can’t tell much difference. Now where I can tell a difference is when comparing it to my 200 lum ED2L.

On a completely side note max lumens is not always a great thing-it really depends on usage. For example that ED2L which works great outside is hell if you use it inside in a dark room and bounce the light off a white wall right back at your eyes. You end up looking kinda like this

EDIT:

I could be wrong but I don’t think the 6PL is getting bumped all the way to 200 or becoming a 2 output light. Its basically a G2L with an aluminum body and a clicky tailcap.

Surefire 6PX Pro Flashlight 6PX-B-BK Features:

Dual-Output LED

Aluminum Body

Press/Click Switching

200/15 Lumens Dual Output

2.5 to 45 Hours of Runtime

Icculus…I could be wrong but I don’t think the 6PL is getting bumped all the way to 200 or becoming a 2 output light. Its basically a G2L with an aluminum body and a clicky tailcap.

Yes, they are brother.

Interesting I hadn’t seen that. I was just working off the Surefire page for the gen 2 vs the LAP page for the gen 1

Gen 1

Gen 2

Where did you find that data on the 6PX Pro? CandlePowerForums?

No brother it is actually on LA Police Gear website. Just scroll down to the new models and click and it will have the specs right there. The new ones are the G2X and G2X Pro and the 6PX and the 6PX Pro.

DOH! Missed that one. Interesting how the 6PX’s don’t seem to have made it onto Surefire’s site. I like that new body and the options though. Good find

However, to make myself feel better I’m still going defend my response to m4fun and maintain that the 6PX is a completely new model vs. a 2nd generation and that the 2nd gen 6PL is indeed the 120 lum one I posted above vs. the 80 lum version for sale at LAPG . Don’t take it personal though; my dad always said I’d argue with a rock if I thought it would argue back

Well I suppose you could probably find some rocks around that would.

Well now that we’ve beat that horse to death I’ve come to 3 conclusions. I want a new flashlight, LAPG has some great deals that m4c members can take advantage of and I think we should both work for Surefire

I deserve a commission!

thanks for the reply!

order placed lol

Thanks for that link to the others as I think I snagged the last of the 6PDL.

No problem, I spoke with Beth on inventory levels. She said the computer inventory system has some errors in regards to stock levels. They will have a better idea of the inventory levels of all closeout surefire products on monday. Cheers lads, off to work.

John

At least one more available I canceled my order. Just no reason to spend the same on one of these as I would pay for a new model with 80% more output.

They’re also selling off several other soon-to-be-discontinued SureFire models, like the C2L and the G3L. The deal of the day, however, is the 6PL reflector/bulb assembly for $30. I just ordered one to convert my existing G2 into a G2L
