KX3 on 7.5" pistol?

Building up a pistol and I’m thinking about running a KX3. Trying to decide between a Levang or the pig.

Those of you running the KX3 on a short pistol, how is the balance? Does the 7oz seem to be too heavy?

I don’t think I’d want one on a 16" but at 7.5" the mech advantage might not be so bad.

Thoughts?

IMHO, it’s a waste of money. First, the gun should run properly without it.
Second, the PIG is heavy and unnecessary.

I have one of these (Black River Tactical Covert Comp) on a 10.5" and will soon have it on my 7.5" range toy.

Agree. Should run without it. It adds weight and 3plus inches to the build, so you could have went with a 10.5"plus barrel (and all the advantages that brings).

I have one on my 7.5"
It was a pistol at first, but quickly became SBR’ed after realizing the unfunctionality of a pistol and the unbalance-ness.

It is pretty well balanced now as an SBR with a ACS stock and storing cr123 batteries.

FWIW: I am now pursuing an 11.5" build. Not to replace the 7.5" per-sey, but because it should be much much more usable

Mine will be SBR’d in a few pay periods.

You mean you’ll send the paperwork in a few pay periods from now? You might have it by August.

What, you mean it’s not an over night thing?

I’ve never waited anywhere close to 7 months for a form to come back.

Well get ready to wait approximately 6 months, as that’s what the time is right now. Last month it was a 5 month average, now it’s up to 6, so who knows what it’ll be in a few months.

I tried something different. Kies makes a linear comp that is light, effective, has flats so you can actually tighten it, and in my experience, performed better than the Levang.
Runs about $45. It’s kind of like the Claymore without the ridged front.
