kryptonite green laser???

What are the opions and reviews of the Kryptonite green lasers? I don’t want to spend or have the money to blow on a $900.00-$1500.00 and up on a PEQ the new smaller Tan model.

not familiar with the product of which you are speaking. is it a visible laser?

I think this is what he’s referring to?

I’d be willing to try it if it was a red laser.

Thats the brand I am looking at.

Red or green, that thing’s got some liabilities.

-The adjusters require an Allen wrench to adjust. That’s actually not a truly huge deal, since if one is having to adjust such a device on the fly, they procedurally screwed up, big-time, well before they got to that point. However, it appears to have been done for no better reason than to appear unique…so somebody is mistaking “different” for “better” in regard to moving away from being able to use a piece of brass for azimuth/elevation adjustments.

-There’s no activation control feature on the body of the device. The user is limited to the tape-switch only, so if the tape-switch takes a dump on you (frequently, they do) or goes bye-bye because it got yanked out, you’re boned. I can’t remember if simply putting the mode-select to ON simply turns on the laser and leaves it there, but if it does, that’s a truly horrible, horrible practice with a Class3R laser.

-What they mistakenly call an “activation” selector is a mode-select switch.

-Whatever they say about the hardness of the case is probably correct, but that’s of no help if the internal components aren’t mounted particularly well, or better yet, potted.

-I don’t recall any of the three we were beating on doing a shit-hot job at holding a zero in the course of 3k rounds per device.

LaserLyte products are cheap lasers, so while I wouldn’t say don’t buy them and use them, I would say to buy them and only use them for activities where cheap ain’t gonna result in a critical tool that you might need Right Now.

If one coughs up for a no-kidding PEQ device or commercial version thereof, you are getting your money’s worth if it’s being used and counted upon for anything more robust and scalable than plinking, hunting herbivores, etc.

Looks like they may have made some changes, as the photo’s on the link show knob adjuster, and the ability to have momentary illumination (paddle switches on the rear/top of the device)

Still doesn’t look like a robust system though.
