I’ve wanted a Micro T1 but fact is that I cannot afford it right now and I am NOT any kind of operator or high-speed low-drag guy…actually more of a High-drag low-speed kind of guy…I am seriously considering the Konus Atomic Red Dot…it does look like the Micro T1 and it is, like the T1 very lightweight. I do not know anything about it and would like to know your opinion. For $100.00 I don’t think it is too much of a risk but want to know what to expect. thsi will be moun ted on a Colt 6920 until I can get an aimpoint M2…after that it will go on an ultimak mount on my ak103.

I have one of their micros on a 10/22 and it isn’t bad. The above review prompted me to buy it, and I think it was worth it for the $60 I paid. I didn’t buy the riser, though because I knew I didn’t need it on my 10/22. It hasn’t been abused (yet), but it seems to be a solid little optic to try out the concept or to use while you save up for the aimpoint. You could also look into some used optics on the EE board.
I’ve been doing some more research on this and found a couple of people on thehighroad who seem to think it’s OK…anyone else have any thoughts on this…they say good customer service, lifetime replacement and costs $99.00…don’t see how I could go wrong with this given my requirements at this time.
I’ve always thought it was a false economy to buy a cheap red dot while you’re trying to save up for a good one.
You end up spending more money than if you’d just wait and get the one that’s good to go.
I also would not count too much on info from places like thehighroad, where most users don’t actually use their stuff hard at all.

I would have to agree with the notion of the false economy; I just thought I would throw that out there.
The Primary Arms unit I bought must have been on sale at the time, as it was only $60, and for that I would say it was worth it. Like I said, I use it for my 10/22 and I may try it out on an AK if I can get that set up with a rail. For these uses (which is just training at best, not a go-to defense weapon) it should work. If you want known reliability and this is for something other than plinking, save up your hard-earned money for an aimpoint.
Looks exactly like the primary arms red dot, probably made in the same sweat shop. I paid $94 shipped for the PA blem gen2 model with the riser. If it is the same you can only use certain risers because it isnt the same size as a T-1.
I think it is only false economy if you have no plans to use it on anything else after you buy a real red dot. My PA red dot will go on an M&P22 whenever I get one.
Bushnell TRS25 has a battery life of 5+ months on setting 5. I would look at that.
The Konus atomic looks exactly like the Sig red-dot on the Sig 522…
Which is itself a Chinese POS knockoff…
You get what you pay for, in this case you aren’t paying for a nice optic, which means you’ll have to pay for a nice optic anyway one of these days.

Incorrect. The Sig/iTac/Konus/Primary Arms, are all made in China.
That being said, I have a Sig (STS-081) and three of the Primary Arms sights for various guns. They all work as advertised…Would I use them if I was to be deployed, NO.
Will they work for SPORT, YES.
I have a STS-081 on my Ruger MKIII that is used for a monthly .22 steel match.
I have a Primary Arms RDS (PARDS) on my 14.5 AR for fun in the desert and at the range.
I have a PARDS on my VZ58 for the same…
I understand the need for quality optics (I’m a shutterbug also) , I have a Aimpoint C3 on my “fighting” AR.
“I” can’t see putting Aimpoints on every gun just to be able to say “I have an Aimpoint” + I can’t afford it…
Well, i got it…I am not a big fan of glass on my rifles but I figured I get this to see how I like it before I spend $$$$ on an aimpoint…Now i need a riser.
The Konus that I own has a battery life of three days. The dot could be brighter.
