Knowing Better

There was a time in my life that I thought a Smith 28 was just a gun that old men had.
Now I know better.

I did about 12hr of bodywork on it and got it down to a 1000 scratch, blasted and prepared.
Then it went to charcoal blue.
The trigger and hammer were cut down and polished along with the screws.
Installed a custom set of grips out of walnut fit and polished them.
Did my standard action job put a cylinder stop in.

Then all I had to do was get some good pics.

What do you think about my work?

You really should consider doing this for a living.

Thanks it is a great and wild ride to say the least.
I am living my dream.

That’s beautiful Joe, a one of a kind piece of true craftsmanship.

Nice job!

I love my 28’s. They probably were the best value in .357…ever. They are bomb-proof. When you were out of ammo you still had a pretty good “weapon” in your hand.

What do you charge for that kind of work?

Thanks for posting.

That is some great work there. The grips are fantastic, and really make a perfect compliment to all the other work.

Very nice work! Who made the grips?

I sent you a PM about the price.

Thank you all for your complements.

Nice.
If you haven’t already posted, I’m sure the members on the http://smith-wessonforum.com would love to see these pics.

Another created masterpiece as usual. Well done Mr Smith.

Thank you
I have never gotten on http://smith-wessonforum.com but I will try.

With age, comes wisdom

Nicely done

Nice work!

Those are good guns, I wouldn’t mind getting one someday.

That is beautiful work - you’re a craftsman. I AM an olde man and for all the handguns I’ve collected in my rampant addiction my S&W service revolver remains my favorite.

Thank you all

Awesome job. There’s nothing better than an old smith revolver and that one is truly awesome

Damn, now you’re really making miss my first carry gun from the 80s. That thing is beautiful.
