Knife sharpeners

I picked up a 2 buck Gerber pull through just to have in my pack for a touch up. My EDC knife doesn’t get abused or overly used so it’s great for a quickie touch up. I have a full kit smith that has 4 stones and oil like the OP’s.

I use DMT blocks coarse and fine I also have a white ceramic polishing stone that I use to put a final polish and to touch up if need be. The trick is holding the blade at a constant angle a trick I got from a old timer was to use a sharpie and color the edge you know you have the right angle by how even the colored edge is removed. Make any sense :sarcastic:

The king of knife sharpeners is the Edge Pro, but it is hardly portable. However, nothing else has ever even come close… nada.

For a fast sharpening, I will take the Spyderco Sharp Maker hands down. For a truly field sharpening setup, one good stone with a leather strop, and the know-how to get an edge back on it.
