I saw this one instagram and what a great idea. it looks like they are making an adaptor plate so you can use the ACR stock on the Scar.

I like the look better than the SCAR stock.
I wish I could buy a SCAR and it wouldn’t need $1000 more of parts to make it truly excellent. That’s a good looking stock set up.
Haha I know right? A new trigger, forearm, and stock ain’t cheap on top of a decent initial investment not counting optics.
How many hundreds and thousand of dollars does the average person add to an AR? That being said, I think this looks great but where do you get ACR stocks?
For the floor price of a SCAR, I could build a godlike AR15. The SCAR is very slick though. I dig it, but don’t want to dig into my wallet for it.

I believe that KDG will be offering the stock and adapter together for somewhere around $300.
So the ACR stock is more robust than the SCAR stock?
Sometimes folks get burned out on AR’s and need a new project. I own AR’s, but I’m currently tinkering with the Beretta ARX and get asked all the time, “what does it do that an AR can’t?” Nothing outside of some unique features, but its not an AR, thats the appeal. I’m sure its the same for other folks playing with other non AR carbines and rifles.
I personally think it is, as it was designed and built by Magpul and just feels more stout. I also prefer it much more than the factory Scar stock when it comes to function, and it doesn’t look like an Ugg boot!
I’m thinking of selling my SCAR Light because it really doesn’t do anything more than my ARs. My SCAR heavy, in the other hand, isn’t going anywhere. I do like what Kinetic is doing - if I had the extra cash I’d grab one of their SCAR rails. One of these stocks might come later.
The SCAR needs absolutely nothing out of the box except for an optic. It’s really a fantastic rifle as-is. People just like to tinker and optimize.
I’ll second this
I don’t really care for the ACR stock. It looks sexy as hell but it really isn’t all that comfortable in use. It feels very much like the old Magpul M93 stock or whatever that was called so the cheek weld is unforgiving and uncomfortable. The big open trench in the comb really kills it for me when the stock is fully extended.
You can. Just don’t drink the kool-aid…
Stock SCAR is just fine.
Is it built by Magpul?
Of course the SCAR doesn’t need $1000 of parts to work. Just like your $500 Glock doesn’t need $100 stippling and $100 in random parts, mag releases, slide stops, sights, base pads to work. Or that 1911 that doesn’t need those Esmerelda grips, and dehorn action package, custom magwell, checkering, etc, etc, etc.
Everyone here could do fine with a bone stock M4 with either Aimpoint M4S or ACOG and a bone stock G19 - but how many of us DO that?

Again… I’ll second this.
Some guys like an AFG or a VFG on a rifle, some don’t like either one. To each his own.
Bottom line is starting with a solid reliable proven platform and make it “yours”
Just don’t put a $2000 stereo system in a $1000 Chevy Cavalier that barely runs.
This is not the case when adding to a SCAR.
