Kimber moves corporate headquarters to Alabama

Seems to be some of that going around in recent years:

“Kimber Mfg., is pleased to name Troy, Alabama, as its official corporate headquarters and to announce it is hiring aggressively in all departments. After a carefully planned shift of leadership, R&D and manufacturing resources, Kimber has made substantial progress in the transition to its new, state-of-the-art headquarters in Troy, Alabama. The final step in completing this new facility is adding staff across all departments.”

I’d be perfectly content seeing all manufacturers move out of states that limit their citizens 2A rights.

Ahh yes. It all makes SENSE now…

Hopefully it works out better than Remington’s Alabama move.

You aint lyin brother…that turned into a goatscrew.
BTW- are they working, or open at the plant here or what? Ive not heard a thing.

There is nothing happening at the plant. Parking lots are empty with no trucks coming in or out. Hopefully the company that purchased that branch of the business cranks back up and puts some people to work.

I need to dissappear the Remington Ave road sign before it’s too late.

GET IT!! That would be AWESOME!
I really hope someone who CARES about that once great name will buy it & restore the reputation it once had.
Came across an old pic of me and some friends in my bedroom back in '78/'79 or so…and on the gunrack on the wall above my bed was my trusty old Model 788 in .243.
I kinda got sad a little.

I hope with this pivot kimber can get back to making quality firearms and not the garbage they have been producing. I hope the best for them.

Extend that to the Barrett Rule: “If your proles can’t have our toys neither can YOU.”

I endorse this message. Just say no to state sponsored gun crime.

Kimber has been dead to me since they left Clackamas, OR and got Cohenized, but glad to see them leaving commie NY.

I like my Kimber but doubt I would buy another

Supposedly, the city of Huntsville wants the Remington property back. Apparently Remington dissolved while still owing the city a lot of money. I’ve heard from folks on other boards that all the production tooling/machinery has been removed from the plant. Don’t know if that’s accurate or not?
