As I recall its release to the public was done on a very limited scale. Don’t know whether KAC will release more for public consumption, but I know that they were at one point tossing around the idea of making one out of a more common material than whatever type of Inconel they used.

Try the equipment exchange at TOS

hem… im sorry… what TOS mean?

TOS = the other site, AR15.com

America.

Check the ITAR Regs.

well
as i bought my ar15 from bushmaster 6 monts ago, usind the dps83 and having had from the us gov. the end user licence, i think i could also buy compensator and othr parts under itar…

Is the price tag really worth it for that comp?

I’ve heard it both ways. However, I have yet to hear from a person who OWNS one who is not thrilled with it. I guess if you’re prepared to pay the price of entry, it is worth the beans. I would LOVE to see a H2H between the KAC Triple-Tap and the PWS FSC556. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Value is subjective. I’ve shot a rifle with it and thought it was a dang good brake. Is it worth $400 to me? No, mainly because I dont have $400 to spend on a brake. To other people it might be worth it.

No offense to those that have them, and I’ve never shot one, and every piece of KAC Gear I have seen has been top notch.

But I wonder how many people that had just dropped $400 on a comp, would say it wasn’t great?

Not saying that’s the case at all, I just wonder…

It’s a damn good break. I paid 200 for my second one, and I would have no qualms if that second one cost full price. It’s damn good.

No offense taken at all, brother. And I completely understand what you’re getting at with guys never admitting that something they bought sucks camel cock simply because they paid a lot of $$$ for it, when deep down inside they are kicking themselves for buying the piece of crap gun/accessory/optic/gear/etc…

I used to be that way on occasion, but not anymore. Now I just admit it if I think something I bought sucks, even if I paid a lot of money for it and look like an ass for admitting such a thing. The reason I confess to bad purchases and admit something I bought and paid a lot of cash for sucks is simple: I do NOT want anyone else to make my same mistakes with their own hard-earned money.

In reference to the Triple Tap muzzle brake however, that is not the case in the very least. Did it suck major balls to pay $432.00 for damned muzzle brake? You betcha! (BTW Titleist, I fucking hate you for getting yours for $200!! Kiss my ass!!;))

But I do not regret buying either of my Triple Taps (I have 2 of them). They really help me to get follow up shots off faster. On my KAC SR-15 E3, the Triple Tap makes an already-smooth and (very) low-recoiling carbine even smoother, and causes it to have even less recoil. When I shoot that SR-15… well, it’s like nothing else I’ve ever shot in my life. You really would have to shoot it yourself to know what I’m talking about. Titleist has one on his SR-15 too, and I know he feels me. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it feels like shooting a .22LR, but there’s not another AR15 setup that I’ve handled that even comes close to the low recoil impulse of the SR-15 with the triple tap brake installed.

My other TT brake is installed on my BCM 11.5" SBR. As you very well know, SBRs have more recoil and they are more “violent” and “nasty” to fire in general. Adding the TT brake to that one really allowed me to do what I couldn’t do before, no mater how hard I tried and what I did, and that’s being able to have relatively quick, and accurate, follow up shots to go where I want them to go.

However my opinions on the triple tap might be void here altogether, since I’m in a wheelchair and my needs and requirements from a weapon system are different from any of yours. I have to try and find ways to keep up with my able-bodied counterparts on the range while doing training with carbines (there’s nothing I can do with handguns really, but they aren’t nearly as complicated for me to shoot compared to carbines and rifles).

And in that respect the KAC Triple Tap brake works for me: it gives me that extra boost to help me in keeping up with my fellow shooters on the line. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that the TT does all the work for me, either. I’ve busted my ass to be able to keep up with, and in some cases (not all by any means, but some) surpass several of my fellow shooters on the firing line.

Like I’ve said before, you can have a TT brake on all of your rifles, have the best optics, guns and gear, and still suck major ass at shooting if you’re not squared away in all the other areas and fundamentals. The TT isn’t a magic piece of inconel or anything, you still have to put in the work.

I’d say if you have the extra cash, and already have plenty of ammo and a decent carbine with decent parts and accessories, then go ahead and buy one if you think you need it or just really want it. But that being said, I think it should be the very last item you buy for your already-completed and accessorized rifle. If you need anything else to complete your carbine, then you really should not be buying one. Just sayin’…

Wow this was a lot longer than expected!

Take care and Semper Fi’,

Paul

Operation Parts had them last I saw.

That’s what she said!

Okay sorry, I really don’t have too much to add to what Paul has already said.

You can’t fix a software problem with hardware. So the triple tap only helps reduce the amount of muzzle flip so that the operator can do his/her thing to get the rifle back on target as fast as they can.

The TTB’s value isn’t so much from it’s pure behavior as a brake, but how it does that job with a subtle difference that’s a bit hard to explain. It’s extremely effective as a brake, but it doesn’t have that nasty overblast like the surefire devices. Having fired that gun indoors at a few matches, that’s a godsend. I have a KAC QDSS NT4 can coming, and the fact that the TTB allows me to just install it right over it and set/forget it is fantastic.

That said, as Paul pointed out, SBRs are nasty and violent guns. And as I said in my write up for my KAC guns, the SR-15 + TTB creates really smooth experience. However combined with the SBR you still get the muzzle flip reduction and whatnot, but it’s loud, and it’s POWERFUL. It really hits you in the gut. But having fired next to a Noveske KX3, it’s not painful like the firepigs. It also creates one hell of a muzzle flash (which you can tame with the KAC suppressor).

I’ve posted this before, but it seems relevant:

And Paul, I know you hate me for that half priced triple tap.

For me it was, it completed my otherwise $2k SR-15E3. That brake mixed with the KAC 2 stage in that rifle make a combo that is pure unadulterated sex on the range. By far my favorite rifle. I hate the PWS FSC556 on my SCAR.

what is a H2H?

Head (2) to Head

I have several of the FSC556 and I do love them. I also shot Costa’s rifle with KAC brake at a class and to me they are the same.

YMMV

thanks for the info guys

well i use a Vltor model 1 now on my bushmaster…
it is only a flash hider… it work good but it doesnt help the barrel to stay down.

i never tryed a compensator on my rifle. i use standard usgi and vltor, so i really dont know if i will or i will not have an effective help to stay on target.

i saw Costa video and i discovered the triple tap comp. and i says…wow…
i use to train myself with other guys, working close… and this comp. should be good cause the blast will go up and in the front of the rifle…

im looking other compensator now… here many guys use Sf 556 or PWS fcs…
i will buy one to try till i will not find the Kac. only one thing leave me with some doubt… all this device move the blast on beside the barrel… i dont think guys will shoot with me will appreciate it…lol…

wich model is the best on muzzle compensator??
