KAC SR15 or?

Well that certainly isn’t like you! That last part made me laugh.

Aside from the positive aspects of the actual rifle, your statement bolded above is one factor that has made me a real believer in the SR15 E3 and Knight’s Armament Co.

I’ve had my E3 for a little over 2 years now it has definitely become my rifle of choice. As others have stated, it has just about everything you need right out of the box. Biggest thing for me personally was the ambi lower being a southpaw…Best lower on the market in my honest opinion…

Your dead on the money w. the lower…something really special happens when you combine a match quality trigger w. complete ambi controls and somehow, someway they actually integrate perfectly on the lower and nothing is left to snag or hang, etc. Finish and Fit/machining is always impeccable on them as well. I am indeed a southpaw though so take it for what its worth.

Out of curiosity, which dealer has the best deal on these?

+1 in that. Also would like to know…

Scottsdale Gun Club ran a great sale on the SR15 a few months back. That was the best I’ve seen.

I’ll use Grant down the road for a 10.5 or 11 build after the KAC.

you had it right before you added the “or ?”

just go with the KAC.

The SR15 IMO is the best rifle on the market as of now…like I said in my opinion. I have one and its everything I could ever want in a rifle. That said I want another one in taupe!!

As others have said, the SR15 is just that good. I honestly never could believe anything could have felt better than my piston Swiss made 551. The SR15 feels better.

IIrc…you have a certain special SR w. extra dimple thingies:p

You mean this one?

One or I’ve looked at the Saber Defense models. Anyone know how this compares with the KAC?

Ok, I just back from sighting my SR15 in. I put 150 rounds through it. I also sighted in my DDM4 Midlength and put 90 rounds through it. Prior to sighting in, I had a Battle Comp 1.0 installed on the SR15. How did the SR15 compare to the DDM4 midlength?

Fit and Finish on both rifles was very good.

SR15 is MUCH lighter and better handling. You really have to handle one to appreciate it and the first time, you will be shocked at how light it is.

Shooting the SR15 was amazing. I did not shoot it prior to having the BC 1.0 installed, so I can’t compare it with a standard flashhider but with the BC 1.0, there is almost zero recoil and muzzle raise. BTW, I could not tell much of a difference between the noise from the BC 1.0 and the standard A2 flashhider on the DDM4. I shot 30 rounds with the SR15 and then did 30 rounds with the DDM4 midlength. Going from the SR15 to the DDM4, felt like I was getting beat up by a carbine rifle instead of a midlength. The only way I can describe it is like that first time you shot a midlength after years of using a carbine length rifle.

Carbine length (harsh recoil) to a midlength(mild recoil) to a SR15(almost no recoil)

Ok, I haven’t got to any of the other features like the great trigger (do some triple tap drills with SR15 :D), the ambi selector and ambi controls. I really like the SR15!

While at my LGS/R. I compared the LWRC M6A3 to the SR15. SR 15 is lighter. Felt better in my hands then the M6A3. good thing they had both. before they hot KACs in. I was thinking of buying the M6A3. Not now.

Anyone else run the BC 1.0 on their SR-15?

I do and I also put an H buffer in mine. It is abso-freakin-lutely awesome. It feels like a .22 mag going off and it just doesn’t move, it sort of bounces just a little.

I do. It’s bloody marvelous…

dam somebody else getting an SR-15 other than me. :suicide:

It’s just that much better with the BC.
