KAC SR15 or?

Before I buy the KAC SR15. Is there any other I should look at. Iv’e held an LWRC M6A3. I like the feel of the KAC better for me.

The KAC would be the first thing I would buy if I had funds for a new weapon…

What do you plan on using it for?

Colt
BCM
DD
Noveske
M&P line
Have Grant build a custom AR for you

What are you going to use if for? Plinking, HD/SHTF, DMR

I think you will find a pretty convincing argument here from several SR15 E3 users.

Woops, I read it as SR-25, not 15. Either way I am jealous!

I’m completely biased in favor of KAC’s SR15. Softest shooting gun around. It shoots about as soft as my BCM 14.5" middy w/ FSC556 WITHOUT a muzzle brake (just an A2). I couldn’t believe how light it was, and yet how soft the recoil impulse was.

If you shoot one, you’ll put money down on the spot. I promise you.

Being a lowly slick-sleeved deputy, my pay is a restriction and one of the main reasons I chose to go w/ BCM’s 14.5" middy upper. But IF I HAD THE FUNDS to buy any rifle, the SR15 is first on my list.

Having owned both, the SR-15 is better. I sold my A3.

I picked up my SR15 yesterday at my local gun shop. I still have trouble believing how light it is! I will be able to give you a range report tomorrow (hopefully) but I have to get the a Battle Comp 1.0 installed on it first.

Dude- just buy the SR15. I bought one on a whim, and after the first range trip I am a believer!

If you have the funds and the ability to get one, don’t hesitate and go pick up the KAC SR15.

Wow, I haven’t heard the term “slick-sleeved” in a long time. Thanks for an academy flashback!

I’ll be ordering mine in the next few weeks! I can’t wait!!!

For me, there is no going back.

I have a full n4, a colt upper and a Sr15 upper on a n4 lower… out of all of my rifles NOTHING compares to the Sr15… many have said before there is just something about the damn rifle that is just awe inspiring… now if only I was not in CA I could match my father with its son (upper to lower) :frowning:

What is the weight of the SR-15?

thx

np. I do what I can.

6lbs 8oz w/o rail panels

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the E3, AC! They really are something special, aren’t they?

Well, it’s not really my style to whip out a succession of superlatives, and I didn’t originally set out to become a KAC customer, but the SR-15E3 really suits me in ways that no other AR-pattern carbine can.

Part of this is the weight, and distribution of said weight.

Part of this is the ambidextrous fire controls.

Part of it is the incomparable linear recoil pulse.

Part of it is the way in which it has everything that you need, and nothing that you don’t, pretty much out of the box.

Part of it is related to the quiet virtues of the SOPMOD stock.

Part of it is related to advances in the bolt system that I can neither see or feel in operation, but which lend confidence to the operator.

Part of it is the way that I’ve been treated on an inquiry or two after-the-sale by none other than III himself, along with our own KevinB.

Taken as a whole, I just don’t have the same level of interest in any other rifle, nor the inclination to put any of them back into first-line service in place of the KAC Stoner. I guess I’ve just become one big spoiled, non-standard, proprietary baby about the whole thing.

And I like it that way.
