I bought this from a fellow locally because I couldn’t pass up an SR-15 for the price he offered. I have yet to shoot it months later and would like to put the $$$ back in my savings account where it should have stayed in the first place.
I was told it is unfired, and it looks unfired, but it smells like it’s had some rounds down the pipe when I rack the charging handle.
First the bad: This rifle was made CT AWB ban compliant by the fellow I bought it from by pinning the MOE stock (easily removable) and welding a Carlson Comp (reviewed here). The brake is not clocked exactly at 12o’clock and the whoever did the weld didn’t do any favors for the finish on the barrel. Also, the forward most screws in either side of the rail show some finish loss. The buffer face is also pretty scratched up from the back of the bolt carrier (happens when assembling and disassembling).
With all that said and me having done my very best to chase off any potential buyers, I present the pictures. If you have any questions, feel free and I will update the thread as I give answers.
