Hi, I’ve been in the market for an authentic KAC RIS for quite some time now but these are proving very difficult to find, are they still manufactured by KAC and does anyone but the Navy still use them on their M16/variants? I would appreciate any pointers as to where I can get one.
KOALORKAL. don’t worry about it . I am going to use a KAC KAS on my MK18 MOD0 Clone and might use a Aimpoint ML3 in a LaRue mount insted of a Wilcox and a M68,M2. I allready have the ML3 2.0 on hand so I will use what I have on hand. But I am using my all my money on the LMT upper/FA BCG with Crane O-rings+ $200.00 SBR Paperwork and another LMT buis .
Well, since this is going to be a clone I want it to be a fairly accurate representation of the real thing (minus the FA M16 lower of course). But I did manage to track a real RIS down here in Canada of all places, slightly used at a decent price. This is going on my 10.5" LMT upper with KAC M4 QD flash hider, Aimpoint M2 in a Wilcox mount, LMT BUIS and a Dieter sling mount. Pricey project, but still a lot less than an SPR.
I like a RAS with the UK (tension adjustable) bottom panel. Or you can flip your system upside down. The bottom pieces on a RIS, (and m4 slip ring & handguard ring) don’t do so well with repeated muzzle strikes.
