kac ras on colt 6920

Hey there,i was wandering if a kac/ras military part #1005-01-452-3527 rail will fit a new sp6920,and if so were can i get install instructions.
thanks

I dont know the NSNs, but if youre talking about the common RAS for the M4 carbine, yes it will fit a colt 6920. As far as installation, you only need an allen wrench for the one screw on top. There is a little jaw on top that straddles the gas tube and locks under the barrel nut and its tensioned by the screw. This can be a bit of a pain but Ive always pulled the screw all the way out, slid the front portion of the upper half of the rail into the hand guard cap behind the FSB. Making sure the the top side it up and gravity is allowing the jaw to hang all the way down, pull back on the delta ring, let gravity guide the jaw into place and snap the hand guard in. Put the screw in and tighten down using blue locktite. Bottom snaps in like a regular handguard. If you want actual instructions, Id look on the knights armament website.

It should, I had a set temporarily on my LE6920 to try them out, they fit it nicely. I ended up with a Centurion C4 floating carbine length rail, instead. I probably would have bought a set of blem KAC RAS rails if it had not been for a really good Black Friday sale on the C4 rail.

PDF instruction sheet. Not super in-depth as far as instructions go, but it’s a pretty easy job.

I have one on my 6920. When you do the install, the rifle needs to be parallel to the ground, to get the tab to line up correctly.

i am pretty sure it a military issue,it did not come with any screws, looks like a place for 8 set screws? Thanks for the help

To be honest I dont really know what the threaded holes are for, specifically. I imagine they have some purpose, but they have nothing to do with attaching the RAS to the rifle. The only screw should be on slot T14(top rearmost) If this isnt there you might have one of the older RIS rails. On my RAS in the slot infront of T14 (T15) its stamped “U.S. PAT. 5,826,363” The RIS attaches just like standard hand guards but they will move, so dont mount a sighting sytem on it, it wont hold zero. The RAS was introduced with the screw/clamp setup to address the rail movement.

If I remember right, it’s a method for attaching a camera of some sort.

also check barrel dia. for proper fit.

That was always my understanding as well.

Easy install, can take on and off in less than a min, whats the best light and folding buis for home defence i should start looking for,im taking off the carry handle for a red dot in the future, thanks

They will fit.
