KAC Midlength RAS FF rail

I have an interest in KAC rails and I was wondering if anyone here has used them. I was interested with the midlength URX but found out you cant get them unless its on a KAC rifle. So, I guess the next best thing is the RAS free floating rail. The weird thing is on the KAC website, these rails got a two star rating out of five. Its wierd because the rifle length version had 5 stars. I dont see how these could be any different except that they are shorter.

Anyway, I was wondering are these good to go or what?

Thanks.

GTG.

Thank you Molon! Thats what I wanted to hear.

Good stuff

FYI We do now sell our Midlength URX with integral front sight.
Both III and coldblue have been working to getting more out to the market- as well as colblue has be contacting people to get our midlength length out as a ‘known’ system, and we sell our gas tubes as well.

Thanks KevinB. I will definitely check those out.

The middy URX (with the integrated front sight) is in the new catalog so that would lead me to believe that we will be able to buy it (someday).

quick question. Does the midlength ras cover up the gas block on a midlength?

Our Mid-length URX will cover up a low profile gas block based off the ‘standard’ midlength 11.75" gas tube
Our Midlength gas tube is 13.16" as on the SR25BattleRifle and SR15E3 - it is out in front of our midlength rail.

I am hoping that between colblue, III and I we can get pictures of these setups out sometime next week.

So is the midlength URX the same length as the FF RAS?

Here is my 16" Rock River upper with the KAC medium length FF RAS.

Is that a carbine length gas system?

yep, carbine length gas system.

Kevin do you guys build (or have ever built) a non-FF RAS for the mid-length?

Not Kevin, but no they haven’t. At least one never went into production.

Didn’t they make one that’s “too long” for a carbine but not quite a rifle length? I used to see it on operationparts.com

At one time there was…

it was 13/16" longer than the carbine length FF RAS.
