Just put one of these on my carbine. Not sure if this metal tab behind the sight base is correct. Should it be inside the handguard cap? Thanks!
No, that’s not correct. The front of the RAS tucks under the cap & the end with the screw is towards the receiver. The retention “fork” is tucked under the barrel nut & the screw snugged.
Yep. You tilt that tab under the cap first… and try to line up the rear latch under the nut while lining it up over the gas tube… a little annoying to get all three right at the same time, but not too hard.
Tab goes under; you should be able to bend it back and fix this.
Tried it again, and the tab slipped right in under the cap. Not sure how I screwed that up. Thanks for the replies.
