I just found out today that KAC sells lowers and I’m siked. Ordered one on Brownells for $200 shipped with a coupon but it’s on BO. Anyone buy a lower yet? How long do they take to come back in stock usually? Gonna have to part with one of my rifles to make up the difference in parts.
The KAC stripped lowers do not have their ambi bolt release. That was a buzzkill for me.
I noticed that. While that would help me being right handed it’s not enough for me to pass on the lower.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they never made them again. The SR-15 complete lower is priced well I you are looking to build a full ambi rifle considering what comes on it.

Which part, the stripped lowers or them coming back in stock?
Looking for the lower parts for the KAC is a bit of a pain I’m seeing since they don’t actually sell a kit. Even the bolt carrier is separate from the bolt itself. Guess I’m going to need a list.
After searching for parts online and seeing how either they just aren’t available or are insanely priced I went ahead and grabbed the full lower for $760 shipped from Brownells. Now onto the upper.
I have zero regrets over mine, but when you compare buying parts vs getting it already assembled as a complete unit, I think you did it right.

How did you score one from Brownells for that price? They list at $856.99, and are OOS.
I’m down for the factory complete SR-15 lowers, but these stripped ones don’t do it for me. Without the parts & ambi capability, I’d rather just stick with Colt or BCM.
Exactly what changed my mind. Also it was $770 with it on back order till March.

The funny thing is, I have an SR15 with all the ambi features, and I never use them because it’s my only rifle that has them, and it just never occurs to me. I’m just getting the stripped KAC lowers for my next builds.
