i’ve got 200rds of Southwest Ammunition match ammo coming in.
they’re supposedly handload quality and consistent good performance.
$16 for a box of 20. once fired, reprocessed Lapua Brass with SMK 175gr bullets. Pretty good deal i thought.
can’t wait to mount that scope and get to the range to zero. Don’t think i’m gonna do a formal barrel break-in. Plan is run a couple patches through every 5 rounds for the 1st 100.
I was very surprised about how hefty this rifle was, either that, or i need to get to the gym more.
The weight thing all depends on what you want and will use it. Reference the ammo, I don’t have experience in that brand, hear good things though. I would suggest no more than a box or two of different ones and see what works best, balance needs and price, etc. and run with it. If you are going to load, same thing, don’t chase that “golden egg”
They must have made a mistake its left handed. Just kidding very nice please let me know what you think of the stock I have been toying with the idea for some time.
I’ll be doing something similar when I get back to the states, but I’ve decided to go more of a ‘budget’ route. Going to drop a Remington 700 SPS tactical (probably the AAC model) into the AICS 2.0 along with the Leupold 6.5-20 FFP M5
Tactical rifles are heavy by design. Heavy means stiff and unlikely to shift POI. My lightest setups are around 10lbs, and they sometimes shift POI if I’m rough on them.
This isn’t a rule or anything, as some light rifles can shoot just as well as heavy ones. (for the first few shots anyway) However, just something I’ve seen with my light rifles.
I think so, it’s been a while. I hope to get my stuff back from Bartlein this week, I can try and remember to weigh it. I just stood on the bathroom scales.
