Just got my lower. On the hunt for a parts kit.

I just bought a CMMG stripped lower. Now I’m on the hunt for the best parts kits for it. I have looked at a few but I really don’t know what to get. I’m trying to stay away from RRA and DPMS parts kits (thanks to the chart). I’m looking for something that I can just bet the hell out of and it will hold up. I know the lower isn’t the part that really matter, but like all of us. I want it to be made from the toughest parts. Anyone have any good parts kit?

Grant sells LMT LPK’s they’re supposed to be real nice. PM him

I went with lauwer custom weaponry lower parts kit, very nice, great machine work($55).I have no regrets.

I would contact C4iGrant and either get a LMT or a CMT/Stag parts kit. I’ve used just about every parts kit known to the AR-15 community over the years and I don’t think you can beat a CMT/Stag or LMT kit for the price-quality.

thanks alot I’m going to hit up grant some time today then, hopefully he has them in stock.

So know I have a new question, would a colt LPK fit into my lower?

Not to threadjack, but have you used WOA lpks? I’ve been looking at theirs.

no problem, thanks for the info

Yes. You’d have to make sure to get the .155 pin diameter kit, and It’ll cost AT LEAST double what a nice STAG kit will run you.

Not worth it in my opinion.

Rant on…

How many times can the same question be asked?
There are several threads on this already.

Buy a factory built lower and don’t worry about the kit.

You may learn a few things by doing it yourself but I don’t see a big reward in it.

Rant off…

i have built a few AR type weapons. to me the AR lower is a super simple thing to build. so simple i don’t know why anybody wouldn’t want to assemble theirs on their on.

i have been getting the CMMG parts LPK’s and the double star LPK. they seem to fit my current double-star lowers with no problems at all.

i have heard that some of the DPMS LPK kits may have some issues like the pins might fit too tight. BUT i haven’t seen this for myself and wouldn’t hesitate to buy a DPMS lpk.

you have to look at AR building like this when you see a statement like that on the net.

there are a lot of young men attempting to build these rifles from kits that they saw on the internet. their mechanical ability and experience may lead them to make mistakes. like assembling things that haven’t been checked for proper fit
and so on. some one that is mechanically inclined won’t have a problem.

as far as the colt lpk–i wouldn’t bother.

one of the things about the AR is it is easy to work with-- it being modular a barrel/cal conversion is a piece of cake. that is why it is so popular with us Ex armed forces types.

we trained on repairing these things in the field and carried some spare parts with us-- i built one in the field from spare parts with none of the proper tools. the darned thing worked fine–

build your rifle–it is worth a little sweat to know exactly how the thing is assembled.

I’ve used about a dozen of WOAs’ parts kit. They seem to be top notch. Never had a problem with any aspect of them.

That’s what I was hoping to hear!

That Noveske uses CMT/Stag LPKs, if it is good enough to go in a TOL rifle like that then if is buy far good enough for me, M2C
