This isn’t the kind of forum where you can come on and go “I just bought an AR- won’t you be happy for me?” So I suggest you write an easy that answers the following questions-
-Why an AR?
-Why did you select this AR in this configuration?
-What mission parameters will it fulfill?
-What kind of performance do you expect from it?
-Is it living up to your expectations so far?
-What new thing have you learned from your experience?
Those 20" A4’s will always be sexy to me.
I miss my 20" AR. I have an 18" SPR build now.
What do you plan on doing with the rifle? That will help you with modifications. I shot my 20" AR in three gun matches as well as service rifle matches out to 500 yards. It is a very versatile platform. Congrats!

My BCM A4 rifle is such a pleasure to shoot. Folks here are right about it not needing much. I replaced the carry handle with an LMT rear sight and an Aimpont H1. And I put in a Geissele SSA trigger and threw on a sling. Done!
The A 4… 20 inch barrel is the nicest shooting configuration . Leave it as is other than maybe an optic and maybe a trigger [maybe not] Buy mags and ammo.
But seriously, you can get a GG&G lower section to go on your handguard to accommodate a bipod and or VFG, GG&G slic thing (goes in front sight post and has a rail for a light, a VCAS sling and a BFG sling adapter and is rock that bitch!
The best way to find what direction you want to go is get proficient with it as it comes. There’s no magic number to how many rounds before you change things.
Example: 300 rounds in and the a2 grip sucks, replace it. Same with your sights, if you don’t like the carry handle go flip up. Don’t like the handguards? Do a rail. Hate tHe vfg? Maybe you need an afg or just a hand stop. Need a shorter LOP, go collapsible.
After all is said and done with you hate it and go back original because you miss that raw feeling of an untamed and in altered rifle.
Rear sight suggestion: if you don’t mind, you can actually cut the handle portion off the carry handle and just use the rear and co witness with an aimpoint or something similar. Been there, done that, loved it
