Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s claim that he heard the gunshots of a 2006 school massacre while playing golf is raising questions about his veracity or his memory.
Mr. Biden told a meeting of mayors in Washington Thursday that he was about a quarter-mile away from an Amish schoolhouse on Oct. 2, 2006, when a gunman shot and killed five students and wounded five others.
But a search of maps of the area in Lancaster County, Pa., shows the nearest golf course to the site of the shooting, Moccasin Run Golf Club, is about five miles away. Rodney King, the golf pro at Moccasin Run, said Friday he was working at the course on the day of the shooting and never saw Mr. Biden, who was then a U.S. senator.
While running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2007, Mr. Biden said in a debate that he had been “shot at” during a trip to Iraq. Pressed by reporters, he eventually described three incidents on two separate Iraq trips in which he felt that he was shot at or might have been shot at.
My take: he probably hears radio transmissions from other planets, too.
But he views it as giving himself a personal connection to gun violence. Street credit.
He couldn’t stand as tall on the issue if he said, “I’ve never been shot at, I’ve never been near any real violence, and chances are extremely high that I will live the rest of my life without experiencing either. You know, like the rest of you in this room.”
It totally amazes me how many of these entrenched politicians are complete idiots, and their constituents keep re-electing them. Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, John Kerry, etc, etc. etc.
I imagine in high school they were the spolied brats who were too flaccid for sports and too stupid for academic endeavors. They were probably hangers on to social cliques, their family’s wealth paving the way for good parties on the yacht and such. no y the fact they are old flaccid men they are “elder statesmen.”
Really, there was no better man in Delaware? Not even the town drunk could be spared to run against this yahoo? Pathetic. Every time he opens his mouth I hear gibberish. How many blow jobs did he give to get to where he is today?
Amazing to me Biden has even less time in the private sector than Obama! Hard to do. Looks like he spent about 3 years after college then got elected to his first post, and has been a politician since.
And I would not care what party he was from…I find it extremely sad someone can spend a few years outside of college or public office, and be vice president of the US. Then they have the gall to attack Romney over actually running a successful private sector business well into adulthood.
