John Doe Investigations in Wisconsin

This area is apparently a rabid Liberal/Progressive melting pot from what little I have read.

Would you mind elaborating on what this is before I watch it?

It’s audio…

Apparently the Progressives are investigating Conservative only donors to Republican campaigns. The Wall Street Journal did a story on it. But having read some personal posts from people that live there, it’s highly Progressive situation. They basically want information that should be private but they are only seeking it from conservatives.

Here is more from WSJ – http://host.madison.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/john-doe-targets-challenge-judges/article_d0c14500-da16-5ed0-a9ef-b1d46b52f845.html

The audio above is a read of the first WSJ article with commentary – aprox 30 min. From Mark Belling radio show

John Doe Investigation:

fictitious defendants n. when a party suing (plaintiff) is not sure if he/she knows if there are unknown persons involved in the incident or the business being sued, there are named fictitious persons, usually designated Doe I, Doe II, and so forth, or “Green and Red Company,” with an allegation in the complaint that if and when the true names are discovered they will be inserted in the complaint by amendment. Naming fictitious defendants stops the statute of limitations (the time in which a party has to file a lawsuit) from running out even though the true name is not yet known. Sometimes during the investigation or discovery (taking depositions or asking written questions under oath) new information about a potential defendant is found and the real name substituted. Then that person is served with a summons and complaint. If no substitution of a real name for a Doe has been made by the time of trial, usually the fictitious defendants are then dismissed from the case since they never existed in the first place, and the case continues against the named defendants. Fictitious defendants are not permitted in federal cases.

The attempts to discredit and investigate the Walker administration began a couple years ago, during the initial budget protests. During that time, there were rumors and talk about large corporate interests being involved in his campaign and policy (Koch Brothers). There was also a huge groundswell of public support. Because Madison and Dane County lean heavy on the Progressive side (think Berkeley with more snow, and a large population of government employees), the public turnout and online support in this region is high. Walker also won a recall election (I believe the only sitting governor to do so, and with a wider margin than the initial election). The Democratic challenger was Tom Barrett, the mayor of Milwaukee.

While I haven’t been a fan of a number of his policies, it seems like the opposition is relentlessly throwing everything they can at him, hoping that something sticks.
