Regardless of different people’s opinions of her, she was one of the fumiest comedians out there (at least in her earlier years). Her show in the late 80’s kept me in stitches, especially the skits about Heidi (can’t remember the last name) whose knees had different zip codes.
Amazing: my wife and I ran into Joan Rivers two weeks ago in an antique store located in Buffalo, WY. She looked like she does on tv but when she spoke, there was no doubt who she was. We are all here today and gone tomorrow. Just be sure that you have made peace with your maker…
By the way, Buffalo is the town that Longmeier is based on. Worth the visit if you’re a fan of the show.
I really enjoyed her appearances whenever she was on the Johnny Carson Show back in the 70’s and 80’s. She’d have Johnny in tears laughing so hard. Didn’t care much for her comments on celebrities in recent years but at least she stated her position on the conflict in Israel. Not many in the entertainment biz would put it so succinctly. She earned kudos from me on that one. RIP Joan.
My wife watched Fashion Police every week. If you take a look my wardrobe, you will see that it is impossible for me to give less of a shit about fashion. However, I liked watching that show because Joan just skewered everyone and everything. The things that lady got away with saying. She really was one of the funniest comedians out there. That’s two great comedians in less than a month. Now I’m worried about Bill Cosby and Jerry Seinfeld…
