Was going to post in the Regional Forum, but thought everyone should read about the Jersey elected snowflakes.
Cut & pasted from page 7 of the bill
This bill revises the definition of “large capacity ammunition
15 magazine” to reduce the number of rounds of ammunition a legal
16 magazine may hold in this State.
17 Under current law, it is unlawful to own or possess an
18 ammunition magazine that is capable of holding more than 15
19 rounds of ammunition.
20 This bill would reduce the maximum capacity of a legal
21 ammunition magazine in New Jersey to five rounds.
And yet, there were people who actually wanted Christie to be the Republican nominee for President over Trump. I have no doubt that he would sign this bill.
It’s typical NJ shit. They will ask for 5 and the NJ gun clubs will settle for 10. The politicians will claim victory because now we are all safe and the NJ gun club coolition will claim custody because “it could have been worse”
There is also an new AWB they are working on which may effectively ban all semi autos.
Bro, I’m trapped deep behind enemy lines on the Left Coast, I feel some of your pain. And yeah, most of our gun clubs, ranges and orgs I’ve been able to find are Fuddtard Kapos just like yours. Is just ONE range that doesn’t react to a rifle with a full-cap magazine by brownloading their frilly pink panties while screaming “EWWW ICKY ASSAULT WEAPON MACHINEGUN MAKE IT GO AWAY!!!” really THAT much to ask?
I understand those thoughts but unless you have the votes, everything else doesn’t matter. Denver is going through a bump-stock ban Bill that also outlaws the possession of 15 round mags. The state law is no transfer of 15 round mags, but OK with pre-2013 possession. No grandfathering on 15 round limit for Denver. I started to raise awareness with all the council persons about the fact that at a stroke of a pen you are going to make a lot of people criminals. Other people chimed in and one Councilperson has taken up the issue is close to getting the 15 round issue addressed. We’ll see what kind of support he can get.
Bitching about the bad deals in the legislature is pointless. The only immediate effect you can make is appeals to logic and sentiment, and frankly if you don’t have a power (votes, primary challenge or money) play, that is really weak. I think that AlexV’s story is compelling. There may be a lot of FSU people in NJ, but calling out the new apparatchiks has some resonance.
The only real play is getting the votes in elections. Duh, I know. We can’t count on the courts like the left can. Or the press.
We are looking at Raleigh. The research triangle seems to have good jobs for me. Texas and Florida has the most, but I don’t know if I want to move that far. I don’t trust PA anymore, too many NJ assholes moving there.
There are gun owners who voted for Murphy. I don’t get it. It’s like slamming your dick in a desk drawer.
How is it negotiating when gun owners don’t get anything?
Also Gun Clubs, like the NRA, care more about their position than guns.
Some of the most vehemently anti-gun people are “gun people”. “Well it’s okay for ME to have this but it shpuld be banned” and “People can’t hunt with XYZ”
Like I might say I’m sick of guns (I am) and I might be frustrated with folks (I am) and I may even well say I could live with only a single stack 9mm and a .357, but I don’t want laws dictating as such.
I remember when guys in the NE actually had cooler guns than in the south. Like I first saw a guy with his own AR15 in NYS. I was just a kid but it blew my mind.
Plus, I dont like hunting (not saying I wont go if prodded) so the hunting spiel is lame. 24 odd years ago, nome of this BS was in place and folks got along just fine.
Didn’t a federal judge already rule that the 7 round limit originally in NY’s SAFE Act was unreasonable? How is a 5 round limit going to stand up to that?
