Hi,
I have an old 3X Colt scope marked made in Japan that goes on the carry handle. It’s missing the little cap that goes on top on the elevation adjustment. Does anyone have a junker I could buy parts from or know of where parts can be bought??

“Jap”? Really?
Calling something “Jap made” is kind of like calling it “Nigger made” to a lot of people. It is a slur, and has been since around the end of WWII.
I don’t really care what you call things to your buddies, and words including slurs are covered under the 1st Amendment. However, when there has just been a racially motivated shooting that has firearm boards under national attention, we need to police ourselves.
Ironically, I’ve done a lot of reading on a high-end denim (jeans) board and seen tons of references to “Jap” denim…by actual Japanese people.
You need to police yourself with your racial reference.

My apologies for offending anyone here. My reference to “Jap Made” was not intended to be a racial slur as I have a high regard for the industrious Japanese people. The use of “Jap” to describe something from Japan predates WWII and, at least in those days, was simply an abbreviation for Japanese. That was how I was using it here.
You should be mindful that there are a lot of Asian shooters of Japanese descent in the shooting community. Some may or may not find it offensive. Either way just err on the side of caution. We need to keep it civil here. No hard feelings.

Come on guys, lighten up! When did using a 3 letter abbreviation for Japanese become a racial slur? There sure is some thin skin around here.
