Weird. I’d never heard of this round. I’m not a firearms historian at all though. I only like very common calibers for practical purposes.

It’s the OG assault rifle round for the German Sturmgewehr of WWII fame.

One of the few cartridges that were actually “game-changing”. I think I can count them on one hand. There’s maybe 3-4.

Larry Vickers did some videos on the MP/STG that used it, below is one of them.
It was also used in German last ditch “Volks” carbines and if my memory is correct was the chambering of an early(maybe first) FAL prototype and I think the Swiss played around with it some.
I was going to say… wasn’t that Vicker’s gun? I never new the caliber though. I recently saw some LAV posts on the instagram machine. I wonder what happened with him… and Grant for that matter.

Hope LAV gets a pardon. Convicted of crimes that shouldn’t be laws anyway.

He was dealing with cancer, so that has likely delayed the final outcome of his legal troubles.

Maybe if more people were interested in things that shouldn’t be laws he might get a pardon, but repealing anti 2A laws isn’t much of a concern for citizens and is desired by most elected officials.
Total Darth Vader round, I bet he had an StG 44 laying around too, you know just for cartridge compatibility logistics.
