Remind me not to watch. Season 2 was a complete fail. I wonder which episode Jack becomes Jackayyyyy. Snap.
I might watch to root for the bad guys, but my guess is that they will be authoritarian, racist, Trump stand ins. Actually, maybe I’ll watch…
How woke can it go?
Honestly, it never came across as serious, well researched or anything like that so I didn’t even notice political overtones in Season 2.
The shows that also felt a little too real were House of Cards (except the last season which sucked), Homeland (with the exception of a single CIA operative with a mental disorder who always saves the day in the end) and the Americans (which was more fact based than most want to know about).
I’ll watch it simply because Amazon gave us “The Terminal List” which was also vicarious fun.
It seems like they’re pretty much done with following book story lines.
They have zero understanding of what made Tom Clancy’s books special. I found a guy online on YouTube that looks like he’s using something like DCS to make a version of red storm rising. He’s done some of the Icelandic stuff.
With Putin on the rise, it would be interesting to see someone redo, or just frankly do red storm rising.
I like it enough to watch it. I’m in
S1 was pretty good. S2 was meh at best. If they don’t get back the quality of S1, I’m done with that show.
Now that was good.
I’ll watch the third season, or I’ll at least start it. My hope is an improvement from 2.

They couldn’t even get the political orientation of the baddies right in Season one (because The Message), let alone other eyerolling shit.
Season two was so propagantastic I’m not sure how anyone could watch that and NOT notice the ‘political overtones’ which were about as subtle as a brick to the head.
I’m just annoyed they got me to sit through 2 seasons. There won’t be a third mistake.
I do need to try out The Americans at some point though; I keep hearing about it. Hope it’s worth the hype.
I liked season 1 well enough. Season 2 was ok. Not my favorite show, but watchable.
Woke stuff is so prevleent that I see past it. What I can’t see past is a Tom Clancy book/movie that gets gear and tactics all wrong. Especially gear. On the season 2 episode where they had the assault boats, I was expecting to know if the motors had left or right screws on them… That and some Hollywood gun stuff that I would normally over look, but it totally out of place for a brand that brought out books totally on gear.
The Americans is fabulous. Literally one of the best TV series ever produced.
