Ever dry fire your J frame in a dark room while observing the gap between the rear of the cylinder and the frame? The firing pin emits a spark, even though it is not contacting the cylinder in any way. Weird.

I have noticed this with mine as well. Don’t know why it does it, I suspect the FP is making contact with something.
I noticed it when I had one of the Smith & Wesson 340s.
Totally normal, it’s a reaction between the hammer and the aluminum of the frame.
My old 442 did the same thing.
