I doubt civilian gun sales are going to be a major snag in foreign relations. Ever if it were it would be easy to appease the affected companies by awarding them some nice .gov contracts.
Not just imported guns and ammo BUT magazines too. GLOCK, HK, Sig, Walther, etc. all have mags manufactured OCONUS. Mec-Gar is in Italy IIRC and makes mags for a ton of firearm companies.
IMI ammo, IWI (Tavor), parts and ammo, G3/91 mags, FAL mags, AK-47/AK-74 mags, etc this has very dire implications for the US gun culture.
This will affect the Russians about as much as placing a ban on tic-tacs would affect sumo wrestlers and the hot dog eating champ.
