I just spoke to some NYPD ESU Cops. They where carrying select fire Colt M4with 14.5" barrels Aimpoint M2s, Surefire lights. Front and rear rifle plates and three mags on a chest rig.

I was in NY a few weeks ago for a medical visit - attended Mass at St. Patrick’s. It happened that the Mass honored New York’s finest. Must have been 200 officers up front in the church. Most impressive to me were the dozen in riot gear, many carrying M4’s standing guard outside the church. They certainly seem to be conscious of the threats in the sorry state of affairs we find ourselves in.
