I’m in the process of tradeing my NIB Colt 6920 for this AKS-74U it has 21 rounds thru it. It was built by Magnum Gunsmith in Ohio. The reciever is Nodak. Is this an even trade. I know kits are going for over $900.00 plus a Nodak $100.00 and build $350.00 to $500.00. I believe the 6920 are going for anywhere from $1300.00 up to $1700.00
How many 6920’s do you have? If you have a couple more, yeah make the trade; if not, I don’t think I’d trade. The krink is however a unique weapon, and has it’s place in the arsenal.
I’d think that your Colt is worth a smidge more at the moment…
If you could get him to cover the transfer or toss in mags/ammo to sweeten the pot a little, I’d strongly consider it – ESPECIALLY if a had other ARs to play with.
ETA: Shoot it first! You could completely change your mind with that little detail.
Have a Colt 6933 plus a couple more SBR. He would pay his form 3 (out of state) and I would pay my form 4. I got this new after the sunset. I don’t own a 5.45 so I would have to get ammo and mags.
Pros
1 Don’t have to wait on a build
Cons
1 Have to buy more ammo
2 Have to buy more mags
3 between the form 3 (4 weeks) and my form 4 ( 6 weeks) won’t see the weapon for 10 to 16 weeks
so the only thing going for it is that you don’t need to wait?
that seems a little short sighted. it also seems like it will be a somewhat expensive proposition for very modest gains (if there are any gains at all)
if you want a 5.45 so bad, get the S&W upper. you don’t need to wait on that either, i’ve seen them in stock.
why switch platforms without a valid reason if you’re already invested in ARs?
If you have more than one AR of the same type as the 6920 (GP carbine) then it might be worth your while as the Krink kits are drying up. Is you’re trading your only 6920 then I would say no.
ETA: Saw your other post, nevermind. Meh, do whatever you think you’ll be happiest with.
The 6920 is more replaceable, and, IMO more useful.
Do it if that’s what you want to try, but, IMO it’s a novelty and maybe the novelty will wear off. Just depends on you.
