I guess my two concerns were:
- Initial shift in zero (hasn’t shifted since readjustment, so that’s fine for now)
- More importantly, if the steel throw arm contacting the bare, unprotected aluminum will cause premature wear
Hindsight is 20/20 and I probably should have left it alone, but I didn’t think I’d run into any issues.
In any case, I guess it’s a toss up; some say it’s normal, some say it isn’t, but no further issues have popped up, so I’ll continue to use it and see what happens.
