Is this lower cockeyed?

Does this lower look out of wack to you? This arrived at my FFL today and in my opinion the stock/buffer tube appear to angle up. There are two lines, one of which is just below the buffer tube. The straight edge on the lower, lines up directly with this bottom line and the stock/buffer tube appear to be cocked up in reference to the upper line. Thank you for looking!

To be fair, it also doesn’t look like the front of your lower is quite level either. Still, it does look like it’d be a bit wonky anyway.

well the whole thing appears to be angled with relation to your lines and/or the camera angle so it’s hard to tell. Does everything function okay? Have you put a upper on it to check? Use a straight-edge to check it if you are paranoid but it’s probably okay. If your upper fits and the stock collapses smoothly then I’m sure its fine.

I use photogrammetry at our lab quite often. I quickly did a little measurement and it does appear to be off slightly. You need to be sure that the camera is perpendicular to be completely accurate however.

IMO it looks like the threads were machined at a slant:confused: .

Compare it to another known good lower, if it’s canted return it to LMT.
