Yesterday while I was cleaning my M&P 15 I noticed a shiny spot on the rails in the upper receiver…there has always been a small shiny spot there…but it has grown some.
Is that normal wear or do I need to get it looked into?

That looks like you are pointing to the carrier itself, no?

The bolt is back…that shiny spot is on the upper.

I have a STAG upper that is a little worse than that on both sides of the cutout after about 2K rounds. I had a Army Command Master Sargent friend who is a President’s 100 winner look at it and he said “DAaaah! shoot it! I have seen the markings go way back much worse than that”
