Bought a complete upper recently and noticed this small dent in the carrier. I’m guessing it will function OK but I’m a little disappointed as it was an $800+ upper. Should I just let it ride, or should I see about getting a replacement?

I personally wouldn’t run that carrier, since steel is deformed into the bearing area, which will tear into the upper.
Another possible solution (if sending it back isn’t a comfortable option) is to file and de-burr the area, and apply a lubricating and anti-corrosion finish.
It looks like it got dropped into a pile of other carriers between machining and coating, though.

Personally for me, I’d just get a micro file, touch it up a tad so it has nothing protruding out, and continue to shoot the piss out of it. But that’s me, and I’m just too damn lazy to mail something back that would take about 5 strokes with a small file to fix.
To add, that is users choice. Remember tho, trying to fix it yourself can void warranty… so prolly just wanna get it switched out.
My exact thoughts and reasons.
Nothing to fix here. This is a dupe of another almost identical thread from a few months back.
In any case there’s just a minor void. Nothing protruding, I’d run it and forget about it.
Off topic to this thread but I randomly stumbled upon your YT channel. You got a decent Ollie man, the kmr500 double tap video was pretty rad too. Thumbs up.
