I was reading a thread in another gun forum about 308 rifles and after some talk, the SCAR-H came up. One member stated that he wants a SCAR-H and then another member stated that the SCAR-H has been delayed because it apparently suffers an inexcusable amount of malfunctions. I’m not going to say on which forum this was posted or who said it. I’m not trying to out anybody, as I believe the member is also active here.
I understand that there are some industry professionals here that can determine if what was posted was fact or BS.
That is 100% false. Whomever has posted has bogus information.
The SCAR System (MK16 MOD 0 5.56, MK17 MOD O 7.62, and MK13 40mm) was approved for Feilding, both the light and heavy will be fielded at the same time.
BTW Kal, if I were to mention " ‘The Kal’ as a POS", what would you think, how would you defend it? I don’t even know you. However, I respect you for who you are. Please be careful about how you post things…as you may know, people who read internet forums sometimes don’t have the insight that you may or may not have. Please send me a Mk17 Mod 0, without the select fire controls, so I can determine the veracity of your statements. Begrudgingly, I will even provide my own ammo for usage during the extensive, multi-year test.
If you have a dot.mil address, we can surely hook you up with the USG POC for full disclosure of the tests conducted to date…they’re fairly comprehensive. While I truly appreciate your offer for ammo, maybe you could just visit our facility in VA and throw a few hundred rounds down range for yourself. No, this is not an invitation to all…we offer many and numerous live fire demos throughout the year.

Normally, I’m quite skeptical of what people post, but saying a rifle like the SCAR-H which isn’t even out yet, is a POS so blatantly had me thinking I have to ask about this to those who know.
I am a highly trained Reliability,Availability & Maintainability Engineer. Please send me a sample of guns (30 should do it) and ammo and I will verify whether or not the SCAR-H meets or exceeds all R&M requirements it is held to. Don’t bother paying me, as that would only call into doubt my impartiality. I’ll just keep the guns as compensation.
