Last I was told, no. FDE for sure and either OD/Foliage. Where was it said that they would only be in black? I’d like to read that.
I think people need to look up the word “initially” in the dictionary. “Initially” and “Forever” are spelled and pronounced differently, as well as mean different things.
To me the real question, is how long does “Initially” last? The first ACR most of us see will likely be a black 16" with a fixed stock. How long before we see an FDE 16" with folding/collapsing stock? I haven’t seen that answered yet, but I’m pretty sure it’s not “Forever”.
Know what, I hope a bunch of people jump off “the list” because FDE isn’t available first, or whatever.
I’ll take black, initially. Then when OD/Foliage comes out I’ll take one of those too. Maybe a 20" variant.
My understanding is that the receiver will initially only be offered in black, but you will be able to purchase whatever color furniture you want. Black, FDE, ODG, foliage…I’m personally lobbying for a special run of pink ACR parts, but that’s just me.
Marketing and extra dollars. You want it so bad and really want it in FDE. So, INITIALLY you get it in black, knowing that you will spend the extra money to buy the FDE when it is RELEASED.
So what you’re trying to say John, is that you want one.

I gave it some serious thought, and I’ll probably just get one of the initial production black units. I like FDE, but I think a woodland ACU Cerakoted Masada/ACR would be wicked.
Does anyone know what type of finish the FDE units use? It doesn’t really look like anodizing, but I could be wrong. If it is, I’m glad Magpul and Bushmaster use real FDE and not Trijicon and Leupold spec 50 Cent FDE anodizing.

Color shouldn’t be anything a can of Alumahyde II couldn’t take care of.
I’d rather have one in OD green myself. I prefer the woods whether tropical or northern to dryed out, sandy terrain.
