After adjusting my TRX extreme, I tightened up the two screws so that the gap is fairly close together - Here is the link to the photo: TRX screws
I went a little beyond hand tight. I am curious, what negative effects can occur if the rail is overtightened?
If overtightened, the smaller tab will snap. This is possible just using hand pressure if you keep tightening one screw and then the other (going back and forth).
I actually tightened it the way you described, Byron. One than the other. I did a few times since I had a difficulty aligning the rail the receiver.
Knock on wood that it doesn’t break.
It looks ok to me, my Troy has a slightly wider gap, just a wee bit though at 15 inch lbs of torque. gotM4 goes a bit more at 20-25 and looks like yours. If you don’t have a torque wrench, just take some feeler gauges or make a shim at the gap you have now and use it as a guide to retighten when needed so you don’t go overboard. I used red on my screws and they have not loosened–got it really hot
