Is Magpul hiring or increasing production?

Relatively new to the AR platform but am wondering with the mad rush going on right now for high cap mags are companies like Magpul increasing their production and maybe hiring more employees to meet the current demand? Anyone have any insight to this company?

Personally I refuse to pay more than about $15 for a 30 rd mag so I am kinda wondering when this whole thing dies down in a few weeks and the prices go back to normal, will there be enough supply for the demand? Hopefully they don’t sacrifice quality for quantity over the next few months.

Sacrificing quality is not something they tend to do. They are pretty good about working on stuff until they get it right. It’s a big reason they changed how they handle products announcements. No releasing to meet a deadline that people beg for, they release it when it works.

Not yelling at you, just offering an opinion based on observation.

I have no idea on the hiring, you might wander over to Erie and drop off a resume. I think it would be a pretty fun place to work, personally. The toys I work with are a lot more expensive, but theirs are way more fun.

I’m not sure if this answers your question, but from Brownell’s site: “Due to unprecedented demand levels Magpul is focusing their efforts on producing BLACK PMAGs for the foreseeable future. To expedite delivery of your order, we currently are only accepting additional backorders for BLACK 30 and 20 round PMAGs.”

Any company like Magpul is smart enough to know what to do. We have no need to know their internal affairs.

What they have said publicly is they are only making black mags right now:

We are fully supporting MOE and GEN M3 production at maximum possible capacity. We aren’t doing colors right now since we can run faster if we don’t have to change out materials, and it simplifies handling and packaging to speed things up. We will be shipping the GEN M3 20 rd mags by the end of the week, and GEN M3 windows are starting to run at production rates.

According to their facebook posts they have started a 3rd shift but I have no evidence to support it. They also state that they are only focusing on black models right now. Kinda bummed being on my 3rd build I wanted to do OD green.

I really dont think they will go full balls outs and hire a ton of people just on a bunch of “what ifs”. They will probally do the best they can with what they have for now. Another AWB will effect not just our 2A rights but jobs and businesses as well.

Call 1-888-Magpul and ask them.
