Good heavens do I wish we were actually that smart.
Probably about as long as it’s taken the Egyptians to shoot at us with F-16’s. I think a better question is how long until they wind up being used in the sure to return sectarian violence? If we’re going to arm anyone there, it probably ought to be the Kurds as they seem to be the only ones capable of upholding law and order.
They can have some Apaches, but they sure as hell won’t get E models. Or Ds for that matter.
They can have them hunting the bad side of themselves. By us.

That’s the game though. Congress funnels our tax money as aid with the wink wink that it comes back as weapon sales for the people who contribute most to their campaigns. It’s not about Iraq wanting weapons, it’s about people with no morals in our government enriching themselves, foreign money handlers, corrupt leaders in other countries, and all on our dime.
Lest we forget, Iraq has 36 F-16’s on order, deliveries to begin this year.
